Our services

Outpost Aberdeen is a client focused service providing practical, non-contractual information on living in Aberdeen, and elsewhere in the world, to Shell people on the move.  We aim to help you settle smoothly and quickly into your new location.  We offer help at various stages including:

  • Pre-arrival
    We encourage contact prior to arrival to allow you to ask the questions that you need answered.
     

  • On arrival
    If we know your arrival date and where you will be staying, a comprehensive welcome folder will be delivered to your hotel.
    A free 2-day 'Settling into Aberdeen' orientation course and further half day follow up course will be offered to all partners.
    We stock an extensive library of resources in our library on employment, cross-cultural experiences, as well as information on the local area and overseas locations, which you are able to borrow.
    One-to-one help with any aspect of settling in to your new location, from how to start the job search (whether paid or voluntary) through to what is a good area to live in, and everything in between.
     

  • Ongoing
    A weekly coffee morning for partners where you can meet others in a relaxed and friendly environment.
    A quarterly printed Outpost Newsletter
    .
    If you join our email database we will send you weekly email updates about events and other things of local interest.
     

  • Leaving
    Help with information about your new location when it comes time to leave.

And, most importantly, we aim to be a friendly voice at the end of the phone should you need our assistance.
